Smoke and Mirrors Teasers May 2023;
Smoke & Mirrors is a South African soap opera about a female vigilante who cleans up Emnyameni, a mining town.
Thandiswa Mseleku (Ayanda Bandla), a hairdresser by day and an escort by night, is on a mission to cleanse Emnyameni of the “Unholy Trinity,” a group of morally corrupt men who govern the town, Thandiswa wants to get rid of Caesar, Jaxon, and Mthetho.
Smoke & Mirrors was created, directed, and written by Loyiso Maqoma, who had worked as a resident writer on SABC3’s Isidingo from 1998 to 2020. He has also written for the shows Imbewu, Muvhango, The Kingdom – uKhakhanyi, Gold Diggers, and Scandal! The Final Chapter Production house makes the show.

Nomeva and Sakhile can’t see Samson’s dead body. Dikeledi tells Mpendulo she is going to emnyameni without him. Mandla comes to terms with the deal he made with the devil.

When Samson comes to her in a dream, Nomeva knows what to do next. When Jaxon finds out that Caesar gave himself majority ownership of the station, he loses it.

Samson’s grave is dug up by Sakhile and Juba. Jaxon won’t sign the deal to sell Caesar’s house. Martha wants Mthetho to check Thandiswa’s past.
Wed., May 10, 2023 Episode 18
Thandiswa sees that she can’t kill Jaxon in cold blood, so she gives up her quest and goes home. When Jaxon hears that Luthuli has died, he is devastated and blames Caesar.

Sakhile can’t stop looking at pictures of Samson and his prized possession, which is now on Caesar’s desk. Nthabiseng tells Sakhile that he should stop saying that Caesar killed Samson.

Thandiswa wants to be with Nomeva. Mthetho tells Caesar that Mandla can be trusted. When Mandla is called to Caesar’s office, Sakhile is suspicious. Leroy tells people that Luthuli has died.

Thandiswa wants to leave Nomeva’s house, but Nomeva talks her into staying by knowing a lot about Thandiswa’s past. Thandiswa says why she is really in Emnyameni after Nomeva explains her gift.
Tuesday 16 May 2023 Episode 22
Mpendulo is scared when Dlozi threatens him and cuts him with his knife. Caesar and Mthetho both know that Sakhile is a problem they need to deal with. Mandla tells Lulu about how upset he is with Sakhile.

Thandiswa is in Emnyameni when Mpendulo shows up and tells her that they can’t go back to Yeoville. Nomeva lets them stay at her house. Caesor tells Sakhile about his new job.

Sakhile goes forward with his revenge plan. At the depot, Mandla tells Sakhile who’s boss, but he doesn’t reply, which makes Mandla angry. Caesar doesn’t attend Luthuli’s funeral.

When Caesar tells Virginia that Thandiswa asked him for an emergency ride to Joburg, Virginia is not happy. Mamiki is jealous when Pollu gives Petunia and Sindi big tips.
Monday 22 May 2023 Episode 26
Sakhile points a gun at Caesar’s head, but he can’t fire it. Thaniswa comes to Caesar to make things right, but he finds out that Virginia told her not to. Thandiswa gives Leroy some money to help with the shop.
Tuesday 23 May 2023 Episode 27
Sakhile tells Nomeva that he was almost going to kill Caesar. Nthabiseng looks in the closet and finds Sakhile’s gun. Pollux finds out that someone stole some of his money.

Sakhile is confronted by Nthabiseng about the gun. Mamiki, Petunia, and Sindi plan to give back the stolen money. Nomeva notices how close Thandiswa is to her son.
Episode 29 will air on May 25th, 2023.
Pollux immediately disproves Mamiki’s claim that he doesn’t know about the money when he shows up at the bar. Nthabiseng is worried about the way Sakhile acts.
Friday 26 May 2023 Episode 30
When Thandiswa turns down the sports car Jaxon got her, he thinks she is just being difficult. Nthabiseng is embarrassed in public, and Sakhile makes him very angry. Petunia wants to give Pollux the money they took from him back.
